About me

‘Food from Michelle’s kitchen’ is a place to share my recipes, share my knowledge of food, and to inspire people to cook.

Though I no longer spend my days cooking in professional kitchens, a 15 year career as a chef produced a strong and deep appreciation for quality ingredients, cooked with minimal fuss, and a profound respect for food.

From a chef to a food editor I spent 7 years writing and developing recipes (and eventually styling them too), which were published weekly in Who Magazine Australia.

It would be safe to say most of my life I’ve been immersed in the world of food. What a privilege that is.

I’m fussy about where my food comes from, how fresh it is and how it makes me feel – a true foodie in every sense of the word.

A lot of my recipes are plant based,  because that’s how I like to balance my diet. When I cook meat, I use free-range organic and always in moderation.

I live in Sydney, Australia with my husband and three children.

Happy cooking,

  1. Great soup! My 4 tasters scored it 99/100 – one did not like the yoghurt, and one thought it should have more red in it (because I said it was red lentil soup). I needed to know the quantity for next time I made it and it made 13 small bowls (whatever that means).
    Great blog.

  2. I am glad you looked at my blog because I don’t follow any local foodies only ‘whole larder love’, so its will be good to match the seasons with the recipes, rather than always looking at winter recipes in summer etc. Also your photography looks great.

  3. Hello Michelle! I’m happy to discover your blog, just had a quick look and wow – love your photography and recipes! And it’s always great to learn from pro chef!
    Nice to meet you!

  4. Hello Michell,
I’m looking for a cookie recipe that you posted sometime last year or could be even earlier I lost it but would love to get it again. Not sure what it was called I know it had LSA mix in, dark chocolate bits and macadeamia nuts and you could also freeze the dough and bake it as you need it. Please if anyone has this recipe please let me have it again ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Anna-Marie

The recipe you’re talking about sounds like one I wrote for the magazine quite some time back (I’m yet to post a cookie recipe on the blog). At the moment they aren’t updating my recipes to the Yahoo web site so you won’t find it there. I’ll definitely try post a cookie recipe here soon. Glad you liked it.

      1. That sounds great No wonder i could not find a recipe! !! I’ll be looking out for it. It was a really easy and yummy recipe – everyone always wants it.

  5. Hi Michelle, any change of getting that cookie recipe I have someone that has been unwell and I would love to bake that cookies for them whilst they are recovering and have some extra for his wife to bake as they have visitors, ๐Ÿ™‚ Anna-Marie
